The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 campaign is said to have less playing time than previously assumed. We reveal how long you should expect the game to take.
- The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 campaign is already playable.
- This mode should take around four hours to play.
- The originally planned market launch as DLC is probably to blame for this.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is currently still in the Early Access phase of the campaign. This means that you already have the opportunity to get an insight into new and recurring features such as “Slide Canceling”.
Following the emergence of initial details regarding the campaign playtime, new information is now circulating that is apparently causing criticism. According to Gamingbolt, numerous players are reporting a significantly shorter playtime, which is said to average just four hours.
Compared to its predecessor Modern Warfare 2, which according to a report by HowLongToBeat presumably offers an average playing time of eight hours, the campaign mode of Modern Warfare 3 therefore only has around half the playing time.
Possible explanation for the shorter playtime
This reduced playing time could be due to the fact that Modern Warfare 3 was originally conceived as an expansion (“DLC”) for Modern Warfare 2. This means that there should not have been a new stand-alone campaign, but merely an expansion for the existing one.
