WhatsApp Gets New Design: This is what it looks like

The messenger WhatsApp gets a new look on cell phones. A screenshot from a test version shows what changes you must be prepared for.

The appearance of the WhatsApp messenger is currently undergoing a general overhaul. The first changes to the familiar design have already been made, especially on Android phones. For example, the menu bar is already at the bottom for some of you. Also, many buttons are no longer round but square. But that is by far not all.

According to the fan blog WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will also revise the header area of the app. This is currently still colored green on Android devices. Soon it will also shine in white. Only the WhatsApp lettering itself will then be green. The magnifying glass as an icon for the search function, and the quick access to the camera will remain. However, your profile photo is now next to it. This is probably a hint for the upcoming feature to use WhatsApp with multiple profiles.

WhatsApp also offers direct access to certain filters. You can display only unread chats, only private chats or business chats. Previously, these filters were unavailable or only available after clicking on the magnifying glass icon.

It is still unclear when the new design will be rolled out to all accounts. So far, it is only available in beta version 2.23.18.18 for Android phones. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will also revamp the header area in the iOS app and add the new filter options here, among other things.

We hope the community will receive the new design better than the new emoji bar.
